No new token surpassed $100 million FDV on launch day
StandX, Metamask, Puffpaw and Opensea all fell short of their valuation targets.
A wave of newly launched crypto tokens failed to meet modest fully-diluted valuation targets on their first day of trading. On Friday, none of the tokens reached a $100 million valuation mark. The shortfall was evident across all four projects that debuted earlier in the week.
StandX, which launched with expectations of a billion-dollar fully-diluted value, stayed well under that level after one day.
Metamask's new token was also expected to exceed $700 million in fully-diluted value. The day-after snapshot showed its valuation remained beneath that figure. The shortfall mirrored the broader pattern seen among the week's launches.
The result reinforced the overall inability of the new tokens to achieve lofty targets.
Opensea's token aimed for a $100 million fully-diluted valuation on day one. The measurement taken on Friday recorded a value below that mark. All four tokens therefore concluded their first trading day without reaching even modest valuation goals.
Analysis
The collective failure to hit modest fully-diluted valuations suggests that investor appetite for freshly issued crypto assets may be more restrained than anticipated.
This pattern points to a broader scrutiny of token fundamentals among traders who appear to demand clearer value propositions.
