On Wednesday 30 June 2027, voters in four Czech cities elected new mayors. In Brno, Kamila Zlatušková won over Václav Trojan, Jakub Hruška and Petr Vokřál. Tomáš Vohryzka secured the mayoralty in Ústí nad Labem against Tomáš Hrubý, Yveta Tomková and Richard Matiašek. Petr Hlaváček triumphed in Prague over Tomáš Portlík, Jan Hušbauer and Adam Scheinherr, while Dagmar Škodová Parmová prevailed in České Budějovice against Viktor Lavička, Ondřej Talíř and Tomáš Chovanec.

The Brno contest featured four candidates, with Zlatušková leading the field. Her campaign outpaced that of Trojan, Hruška and Vokřál, culminating in a victory announced on Wednesday.

In Ústí nad Labem, the mayoral ballot listed Vohryzka alongside Hrubý, Tomková and Matiašek. Vohryzka obtained the most votes when the count was finalized on 30 June. His election replaced the previous administration with a new mandate.

Prague's mayoral race pitted Hlaváček against Portlík, Hušbauer and Scheinherr. After the votes were tallied on Wednesday, Hlaváček emerged as the winner. The capital city therefore entered a new mayoral term under his leadership.

České Budějovice saw Dagmar Škodová Parmová contend with Lavička, Talíř and Chovanec. The final count on 30 June gave her the majority needed for the office. Her victory concluded the municipal elections in the city for the cycle.

Analysis

The simultaneous selection of new mayors in Brno, Ústí nad Labem, Prague and České Budějovice creates a fresh set of municipal leaders who will shape local policies and interact with regional and national authorities. Their individual agendas will affect issues such as urban development, public services and the allocation of EU funds, potentially altering the balance of influence among the cities.

Depending on their affiliations and policy priorities, the new mayors could either align with or oppose the current central government, influencing cooperation on infrastructure projects and legislative initiatives.
