United Russia won every region in 2026 Duma elections
The ruling party swept the vote while opposition Yabloko missed the threshold and forces took only Mykolaivka.
United Russia swept the 2026 Duma elections, winning every region on the national ballot. The party added seats to its parliamentary bloc, securing a dominant majority. Opposition party Yabloko did not meet the electoral threshold required for representation.
The vote count finalized on 20 September confirmed United Russia's clean sweep across all regional lists. Yabloko fell short of the 5 percent threshold, eliminating it from Duma representation. Consequently, no opposition party secured seats in the chamber.
They failed to capture the entirety of Kostyantynivka, as the city remained under Ukrainian control. The assault on Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi also did not succeed, leaving the town untouched. Other towns in the region remained under Ukrainian control.
Russia did not conduct a nuclear weapons test by the end of September. It also did not announce a new forced mobilization during that period. Peace negotiations between Moscow and Kyiv were absent through the same timeframe.
Military and policy indicators were logged on 1 October. Together, the data painted a picture of domestic consolidation alongside battlefield stagnation.
Analysis
The complete victory of United Russia eliminates any parliamentary opposition, concentrating legislative power in the ruling party and limiting formal dissent. With Yabloko failing to clear the threshold, the Duma now lacks representation from liberal opposition forces, which could affect the range of policy debate within the legislature.
On the front lines, the limited capture of Mykolaivka and the failure to take Kostyantynivka and Kupiansk-Vuzlovyi suggest that Russian offensive operations are encountering significant resistance. The inability to secure additional towns indicates operational challenges that may hinder broader strategic objectives in the region.
Domestically, the political sweep provides the Kremlin with a strong mandate, potentially emboldening its leadership to pursue its current course. However, the military setbacks and lack of diplomatic engagement introduce uncertainty about the war's trajectory and the regime's capacity to achieve its objectives without further escalation or policy shifts.
