United Russia won every region in 2026 Duma election
Yabloko failed to meet the electoral threshold, and the Bank of Russia left policy unchanged.
United Russia swept the 2026 state Duma elections, winning in all regions of the federation. The party's tally of seats did not Increase compared with the previous legislature. Opposition party Yabloko failed to clear the electoral threshold and secured no additional seats. The Bank of Russia announced no Change to its monetary policy in September.
In all 85 federal subjects, United Russia candidates received the highest share of votes. No rival party managed to lead the count in any region. The result produced a nationwide uniformity in the Duma delegation.
Yabloko's national vote share fell short of the 5 percent requirement for parliamentary representation. The party therefore did not win any seats in the new Duma.
Despite the sweep, United Russia's seat count remained the same as in the previous convocation. The party held onto its existing allocation without adding new mandates. The static result reflected the unchanged composition of the ruling coalition.
The central Bank kept its monetary policy unchanged during September. The decision left key interest rates and reserve requirements at their current levels. No policy shift was announced ahead of the parliamentary term.
Analysis
The complete regional victory consolidates United Russia's control over the legislative agenda, leaving little room for dissenting voices within the Duma. With Yabloko unable to cross the threshold, the formal opposition presence in parliament is further diminished, reducing the scope for parliamentary debate on policy alternatives.
The fact that United Russia did not gain additional seats despite winning every region indicates that the party retained its existing parliamentary strength without expanding it. This static seat count, combined with the Bank of Russia's decision to keep policy unchanged, suggests a broader preference for continuity in both political and economic spheres during the new term.
The lack of opposition representation and the unchanged monetary stance may affect Russia's domestic reform prospects and its engagement with international partners.
